Academic Year Programs

The ACES Program is currently under review and not being offered.

In addition to the exciting summer programs offered by the Office of Precollegiate Programs for Talented and Gifted, OPPTAG also offers several unique programs during the academic year for students looking for a challenge and to expand their horizons.

ACES
The ACES (Academic Challenges for Exceptional Students) program affords bright students the opportunity to explore interesting academic domains during the academic year in a Saturday clinic setting.

Investigation Series
The Investigation Series Conference welcomes Iowa's best students to Iowa State University's beautiful campus for one Saturday each spring and each fall semester. Each of ISU's colleges in turn share their cutting edge technologies with these eager students by way of hands-on activities. Through these activities the participants gain an appreciation of the wide range of future academic and career paths that await them. Parents are invited to attend session addressing issues of Talented and Gifted Education, Financial Aid Planning, College Planning, and/or Cyber Learning.
